The Combination of Amlodipine and Atorvastatin for Treating Patients with Hypertension and Hyperlipemia

Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of the combination of atorvastatin and amlodipine in hypertensive patients with primary high lipids.Methods: 76 hypertensive patients with primary high lipids were divided into two groups randomly;39 patients in the test group were treated with amlodipine plus atorvastatin,and other patients in the control group were treated with amlodipine only;all patients were treated for 16 weeks of We measured blood pressure,blood-lipid,C-reactive protein(CRP) and left ventricular mass index(LVMI).Results: After 16 weeks of treatment,blood pressure and LVMI were reduced in both groups(p0.05),but the indicators in the test group were significantly lower than those in the control group(p0.05);Meanwhile,blood-lipid and CRP in the test group were lower than those in control group(p0.05),and the serum concentration of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol in the test group was higher(p0.05).Conclusion: The combination of amlodipine-atorvastatin remarkablely reduced the blood pressure and reversed left ventricular remodeling,compared with amlodipine therapy.The combination of amlodipine and atorvastatin could be a good choice of the treatment in hypertensive patients with hypercholesterolemia in the clinical setting.
