Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical application of ultrasound-guided percutaneous nephrolithotomy(PCNL).Methods 108 patients with upper ureteral stones treated with the PCNL were analyzed. The procedures were performed under the color doppler ultrasound guidance. Results The passageway was successfully built in all patients in the first-stage operation, and the overall stone-free rate was about 95.37%.Operating time was about 45~150 minutes and average days of inpatient were 10.5 days. After the operations, there were a total of 5 patients with residual stones and three patients had infectious shock.Delayed massive hemorrhage in the kidney was detected in 5 patients after their surgeries. Conclusion Ultrasound-guided PCNL is a safe, minimally invasive and effective method for treating the renal calculus.
