Therapeutic Observation on Electroacupuncture plus Bleeding Therapy for Trigeminal Neuralgia

Objective To explore a satisfactory method in treating trigeminal neuralgia.Method Sixty-two patients with trigeminal neuralgia were randomized into a treatment group and a control group.31 patients in the treatment group were managed by electroacupuncture and bleeding therapy,and the other 31 patients in the control group were prescribed with Carbamazepine.Result The total effective rate was 87.1% in the treatment group versus 64.5% in the control,and the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Electroacupuncture plus bleeding therapy produces higher total effective rate than Carbamazepin in treating trigeminal neuralgia.
