Abstract

Objective To study the clinical significance of the changes in plasma endothelin and tumor necrosis factor levels in the patients with coronary heart disease.Methods Tests of endothelin and tumor necrosis factor in blood plasma were performed in 78 patients with coronary heart disease.Sixty-seven healthy subjects served as normal controls.Results Plasma endothelin and tumor necrosis factor levels in the patients were much higher than those in the normal subjects(P0.01).Plasma endothelin and tumor necrosis factor were increased with the progressive severity of coronary heart disease.Conclusion Endothelin and tumor necrosis factor are associated with coronary heart disease.
