Abstract

AIM:To study the clinical significance of changes in plasma endothelin(ET) and tumor necrosis factor(TNF) levels in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD). METHODS:Tests of ET and TNF in blood plasma were performed in 67 patients with CHD. 28 healthy subjects served as mormal controls. RESULTS:plasma ET and TNF levels in the patients were much higher than those in the normal subjects(all P 0.01). Plasma ET and TNF increased with the progressive severity of CHD. CONCLUSION:ET and TNF are associated with CHD.
