An Effective Path for Teachers' Professional Development in Universities: Professional Learning Community

In recent years,as an effective organization for teachers' professional development,professional learning community has drawn more and more attention in educational circles. Starting from the definition and elements of teachers' professional learning community,the essay illustrates that the role of a teacher has transferred from a traditional knowledge facilitator to a leaner,a cooperator,an actor and a reflective practitioner. Meanwhile,the essay puts forwards some suggestions about how to establish an effective teachers' professional learning community in universities.
