Comparing painless gastroscopy with normal gastroscopy

Objective: To evaluate the effect and safety of gastroscopy and enteroscopy undergoing anesthesia for improving the manipulation and eliminating patient's fear.Methods: We elected two groups patients undergoing gastroscopy or enteroscopy.There are sixty patients in each group.The patients inone group were given propofol only and the patients in another group were given propofol and fentanyl citrate intravenously.Meanwhile the patients in control group were undergone endoscopy routinely.Then we recorded their response including BP,HR,SpO2,the patient's feeling and the frequency of successes of gastroscopy.Results: Compared with the controls,SBP and HR in the two test groups were decreased significantly(P0.05),but no significant different were observed in SpO2.The patient's SBP and HR in the controls were increased significantly during the gastroscopy(P0.05).In the test groups,the patients who would like to accept endoscopy again were increased significantly.Conclusion: Endoscopy with anesthesia can be achieved safely,comfortably,effectively and painlessly.
