55 Cases of Acute Knee Osteoarthritis Treated with TCM for Internal Administration Combined with Warmed Needing with Moxibustion

Objective: To observe the clinical curative effect of TCM for internal administration combined with warmed needing with moxibustion on acute knee osteoarthritis.Methods: 110 patients with acute knee osteoarthritis treated in the hospital from Feb.of 2010 to Apr.of 2013 were chosen as the study objects and randomly divided into the control group and the observation group,with 55 cases in each group.The patients in the control group with given routine Western medicine,while the ones in the observation group were also added TCM for internal administration combined with warmed needing with moxibustion.Then the clinical effects of both groups were observed.Results: The cure rate and the effective rate of the control group were 20.00% and 78.18% respectively,while the cure rate and the effective rate of the control group were 30.91% and 90.91% respectively.And the differences had statistical meaning(P0.05).After the treatment,the differences in the symptomatic integration,Lequesne MG,the acute knee osteoarthritis integration,the Womag-index of OA integration,and SF-36 concise scales between both groups had statistical meaning(P0.05).Conclusion: TCM for internal administration combined with warmed needing with moxibustion has very good curative effect on acute knee osteoarthritis.
