Abstract
Eight top triple jump athletes attending the Olympic Games and the world championships were studied. The triple jump final success rate, frequency of sub-optimal result, effective results' stability(coefficient of variation) were analyzed through literature study, statistical analysis and induction. Results showed that in recent years the results of male and female championship and the top eight athletes were in a certain interval. In six rounds, the success rate was decreasing. The success rate the first three rounds were relatively higher than that of the other three. This declining was more obvious for the male athletes. The success rate of male athletes was the highest in the first round, that of the female athletes was the highest in the second and sixth. In the six rounds, male and female athletes' frequency of sub-optimal results did not significant differ, but the top three athletes created the best results in the last three rounds. The stability of effective results was good. There were some individual differences. The competition environment changes had a certain impact on stability.
