Abstract

Objective:To investigate the role of soluble Fas in serum and placental growth factor in placenta in the pathogenesis of early-onset of severe preeclampsia.Methods:Fifty-five patients with severe preeclampsia and forty healthy pregnant women were studied and both the serum samples of serum and placenta were collected. The expression of placental growth factor in placenta was determined by immunohistochemisty and the concentration of soluble Fas in serum was detected with ELISA method. Results:Serum levels of soluble Fas in early-onset of severe preeclampsia group were significantly higher than those of late-onset severe preeclampsia and healthy pregnant woman. The expression of PlGF in placenta was decreased in early-onset of severe preeclampsia, and it was shown in a negatively correlation with sFas.Conclusion:There is an increasing expression of sFas in early-onset of severe preeclampsia than in the late-onset of severe preeclampsia. It is correlated with low expression of PlGF that means low invasive ability of trophoblast.sFas may play an important role in the pathogenesis of the disease.
