Abstract
Aim:To investigate the prevalence of hyperuricemia(HUA) and the influencing factors among civil servants in Zhengzhou. Methods:Civil servants aged 18~97 years in Zhengzhou were investigated for HUA prevalence. The logistic regression method was used to analyze the influencing factors. Results:A total of 4 721 participants were investigated. The crude prevalence of HUA was 5.57%(6.44% for the male and 3.71% for the female) and the age-adjusted prevalence by the population data of 2000 in China was 5.32%(6.13% for the male and 3.79% for the female). The HUA prevalence in the male was higher than that in the female(χ2=14.530,P0.001).Hypertension(OR=1.665,95%CI=1.154~2.403),hypertriglyceridemia(OR=1.893,95%CI=1.257~2.952),hyperglycemia(OR=1.623,95%CI=1.156~3.080) and high low density lipoproteins(OR=2.156,95%CI=1.352~3.438) were the main independent risk factors for HUA.Conclusion:The HUA prevalence in the male is higher than that in the female among civil servants in Zhengzhou.Hypertension and dyslipidemia should be the risk factors to HUA.
