Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of paeonol on TGF-β1 expression in myocardial tissue of ventricular remodeling rats after acute myocardial infarction(AMI). Methods: SD rats were randomly divided into sham-operation group, model group, paeonol group and captopril group. The AMI rats model was made by ligating the anterior descending branch of left coronary artery. Then the rats in paeonol group were peritoneally injected paeonol(16.0mg/kg) for 4 weeks; the rats in captopril group were lavaged with captopril(10.0mg/kg) for 4 weeks. The LVWI and collagen volume fraction(CVF) of rats in each group were detected; Immunohistochemical stain was used to detect the expression of TGF-β1 in myocardial tissue. Results: Compared with rats in model group, the LVWI, CVF and TGF-β1 expression in myocardial tissue of rats in paeonol group and captopril group declined obviously(P 0.01). Conclusions: Down regulating TGF-β1 expression in myocardial tissue maybe the mechanisms of paeonol improving ventricular remodeling.
