Abstract

To establish a HPLC method for the determination of aspirin and salicylic acid in aspirin tablets,acetonitrile-methanol-formic acid(40∶59∶1) was used as extracted solvent. The mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile-methanol-0.01 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate(adjusting pH to 3.3~3.4 with phosphoric acid).A linearity with a good correlation coefficient was yielded from 0.183 to 0.427 mg/mL for aspirin(r=0.9997).The average recovery was 99.81% and RSD was 0.24%.A linearity with a good correlation coefficient was yielded from 1 to 12 μg/mL for salicylic acid(r=0.9999).The average recovery was 101.09% and RSD was 0.77%.This method is simple, sensitive, accurate and precise, and can be used for the quality control of the preparation.
