Analysis of the reasons of postoperative complications in the plug-mesh tension-free hernia repair

Abstract
Objective To analyze the reasons of postoperative complications in the plug-mesh tension-free hernia repair of inguinal hernia. Methods 460 cases of ingunial hernia patients from March 2002 to February 2008 who underwent plug-mesh tension-free hernia repair were summarized retrospectively,the reasons of postoperative complications were analyzed. Results All the patients were followed up from 6-60 months,there were 2 cases of intractable pain(0.43%),2 cases of recurrence(0.43%),1 case of incision infection(0.22%),14 cases of scrotal edema(3.04%),1 case of scrotal hematoma(0.22%),22 cases of urinary retention(4.78%). Conclusions Anatomizing carefully and operating standardly are the key point to decrease the postoperative complications of plug-mesh hernia repair.
