Application of triamcinolone acetonide using in vitrectomy of retinal periphlebitis

Abstract

OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of using triamcinolone acetonide in vitrectomy surgery of retinal periphlebitis.METHODS Form July 2010 to July 2011,17patients 17eyes suffering Eales accepted vitrectomy surgery for the first time in our hospital were injected supernatant removing triamcinolone acetonide 0.1ml into vitreous cavity to assist peeling vitreous posterior cortex,then 0.1ml was injected again,checking up and removing residual vitreous posterior cortex.By the time the surgery was over,supernatant removing triamcinolone acetonide 2.0mg was injected into vitreous cavity.Retrospectively analyzed the treatment effect.RESULTS Postoperative visual acuity improved.Postoperative high intraocular pressure was in 4 cases caused by vitreous cavity gas injection.Antiglaucomatous treatment for 3 days IOP was controlled in the normal range.Patients were followed up for 3 months,and all patients with normal intraocular pressure.Postoperative anterior chamber inflammation was moderate.After symptomatic treatment for 15~30 days,5 cases of vitreous hemorrhage were absorbed.Six cases of patients with posterior capsular opacity did not affect the observation of fundus.Follow up for 8 months,all patients had no retinal detachment.CONCLUSIONS Application of triamcinolone acetonide assisted peeling vitreous posterior cortex for vitrectomy of retinal periphlebitis was safe,effective,and could reduce postoperative inflammation.
