Abstract

Objective To study the value of hydrothorax tumor markers in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant pleural effusion. Methods 10 malignant pleural effusion patients were assigned to trial group, and 12 benign pleural effusion patients were assigned to control group, investigator measured and compared quantities of CEA,CA153,CA125,CA199 in serum and pleural effusions. Results Tumor markers in serum and pleural effusions of trial group were obviously higher than those of control group(P0.01).In trial group, quantities of tumor markers in pleural effusions were obviously higher than those in serum(P0.01).Conclusion The detection of hydrothorax tumor markers have the important value for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant pleural effusion, and surpass the value to detect the tumor markers in serum.
