Discourse Analysis and Improvement in Reading Comprehension

Abstract

Reading is the process that readers gain the integrated information. The reading teaching of college English refers not only to the analysis and understanding of the language forms and literal meaning, but also to the discourse teaching which regards the reading material as a whole. To comprehend the linguistic Units by analyzing the discourse will help improve students` ability in reading comprehension.
