Abstract

The study extracted the active ingredients of chrysanthemum, honeysuckle with water. The bacteriostasis of extracts from chrysanthemum and honeysuckle was determined by the filter paper dispersion, and the minimum inhibitory concentration was determined by double dilution method. The results showed that chrysanthemum and honeysuckle had different degrees of bacteriostatic effect to Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The minimal inhibitory concentrations both were higher than 250 mg/mL.
