Research on influence of Daping Island reclamation project on waterway & wharf

A two-dimensional mathematical model for tidal current and sediment was established base on the analysis of the conditions of maritime space for the project.The tidal current and suspended sediment fields before and after implementation of Daping Island Reclamation Project,and the influence of the project on the waterway and wharf near the reclamation area was analyzed and researched.The research shows that this project has no large-range and fundamental influence on the surrounding sea areas,and its effects are mainly concentrated in partial areas in the west side of the waterway.Since the coal wharf and its transport waterway for Yanshan Thermal Power Plant will produce sediment deposition,periodic dredging or other engineering measures are recommended.
