Abstract

Objective:To evaluate the clinical effect of Mifepristone and Marvelon in the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding in postmenopausal women. Methods: A total of 120 cases of dysfunctional uterine bleeding in postmenopausal women were randomly divided into Mifepristone and Marverlon group. The effect of regulating menstruation, variance of hermone level, thickness of endometrium and side effect of drugs etc were compared between the two groups before and after the treatment. Results: After treatment for 3 months, the effective hemostasis without reoccurrence were observed in Mifepristone group while the withdrawal hemorrhage was observed in Marvelon group with a reoccurrence rate of 21.7%.Levels of serum hormone such as FSH,LH,E2 and P in Mifepristone group decreased after the treatment while levels of E2 and P in Marvelon group decreased after the treatment. The thicknesss of endometrium was reduced significantly after the treatment(P0.05).Conclusion:The clinical effect of Mifepristone in the treatment of dysfunctional uterine bleeding in postmenopausal women is better than that of the Marvelon group.
