On Buddhism and Luo Qin-shun's Poems

Abstract

The scholars' attitudes towards Buddhism of the Ming Dynasty are very complex.Some scholars support Buddhism;some scholars are Confucians on the surface,but their thoughts are influenced deeply by Buddhism.The others oppose Buddhism.There are also such scholars who are influenced by Buddhism and who oppose Buddhism,and among those is Luo Qin-shun.Luo Qin-shun studies Buddhism with great concentration for more than several decades,so he would criticize Buddhism on high level.But he approves subconsciously certain part of Buddhism.We can see clearly the influence of Buddhism on his poems.Luo Qin-shun's attitude towards Buddhism shows that Buddhism has been mixed together with the thoughts of the scholars of the Ming Dynasty.
