The Study and Analysis of the Relation between LIU Zong-yuan and Buddhism

LIU Zong-yuan was one of the well-known representatives of the scholar-government official class in Tang dynasty.Different from a number of scholar-officials who firmly held the stand to oppose Buddhism,he held the attitude of tolerance and acceptance toward Buddhism;it even might be said he loved Buddhism.Meanwhile,Buddhism also produced an important impaction on his life idea and social life.Liu's attitude and stand to Buddhism not only had the relation with his personal experience,but also closely linked with the social environment in that period.
