Adverse Drug Reactions: Analysis of 110 Cases

Abstract

OBJECTIVE:To analyze the characteristics and regularities of the adverse drug reactions(ADRs) occurred in Puyang People's Hospital for references of clinical rational drug use.METHODS: By a retrospective study,a total of 110 ADR cases collected in our hospital from Jan.2007 to Jun.2010 were analyzed statistically.RESULTS: Of the 110 ADR cases,64(58.18%) aged above 60 years;79(71.82%) were induced by intravenous administration;antibiotics were the major drugs which induced ADR in 37 cases(33.64%),followed by Chinese medicine in 19 cases(17.27%).Lesions of skin and its appendants were the most common clinical manifestations of ADRs with 39 cases(35.45%).CONCLUSION: The ADR monitoring should be intensified with an emphasis laid to antimicrobial drugs and traditional Chinese medicine so as to lessen or avoid the occurrence of ADRs and ensure patients' medication safety.
