Abstract

Objective To investigate the ultrasonographic value in the diagnosis and classification of appendicitis in children. Methods 174 children patients suspected as simple appendicitis were examined and diagnosed as appendicitis by ultrasound , then the characteristics of ultrasonography were analyzed ,classified and compared with surgical and pathological results. Results 167 cases in 174 were diagnosed and 5 cases were suspected asappendicitis by ultrasound, compared with surgical and pathological results, the accuracy rate of ultrasonographic diagnosis was 99.4%,and the preciserate of ultrasonographic classification was 93.6%.Conclusion Ultrasonography is of high value for diagnosis and classification of appendicitis in children.
