Abstract
Objective: To observe the effect of Simo Decoction on gastrointestinal motility and MTL,SS in serum of different mice models of gastrointestinal dysfunction. Methods: 140 mice were randomly divided into normal group(20),chronic stress group(40),spleen deficiency constipation group(40) and fluid-consuming constipation group(40).Except the normal group, other three groups were divided into the corresponding model and treatment group of 20 after the success of modeling, and then treated with Simo Decoction for 7 days, tested for function of gastric emptying and small intestinal propulsion. The contents of MTL and SS were tested by Elisa. Results: The gastric residual rate increased, small intestinal propulsion rate and contents of MTL depressed. The contents of SS increased in model groups with chronic stress and spleen deficiency constipation. All of them had statistically significant difference compared with normal group(P0.05,P0.01).After treatment, the gastric residual rate and SS level depressed, small intestinal propulsion rate and MTL level increased in treatment group with chronic stress(P0.05).The difference of above-mentioned index in spleen deficiency constipation groups and fluid-consuming constipation groups was not significant. Conclusion: Simo Decoction has obvious effect on chronic stress model mice, which may be related to regulation of gastrointestinal motor function and brain-gut peptide levels.
