Abstract
Objective To investigate the effects and mechanism of Liangxue Sanxue Formula on the changes of cluster of differentiation 40 ligand(CD40L) of leukocyte antigen of peripheral blood in immune thrombocytopenia(ITP) rat model.Methods The rats were randomly divided into blank group,model group,prednisone group,Liangxue Sanxue Formula high,medium and low dose group.ITP rat model was made by intraperitoneal injection with rabbit anti-rat platelet serum(APS).The changes of CD40L in peripheral blood were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),the platelet number was detected before and after modeled,and after treatment.Results Compared with blank group,the level of CD40L was significantly higher while the platelet number was significantly lower in model group.There were statistical significances in these indices between the two groups(P 0.01).Compared with the model group,the levels of CD40L were decreased(P 0.01 or P 0.05),and the platelet numbers were increased in treatment groups(P 0.01).There were no statistical significances between Liangxue Sanxue Formula medium dose group and the prednisone group(P0.05).Conclusion Liangxue Sanxue Formula can reduce peripheral platelet destruction in ITP rats,which may be related to the down-regulation of CD40L levels.
