Abstract
Objective:To understand the blood lead lev els of children aged 0~15 years. Methods:The blood lead levels of 8 836 children aged 0~15 in Tianjin were determined from July 2000 to July 2003 using an epidemiological survey with strict quality control. Results:The medians of blood lead levels of 8 836 children were 83.86 μg/L , and 2 097 children (23.73% ) were found with a blood lead level≥100 μg/L. The lead level in boys was significantly higher than that in girls (P0.001). Conclusion:Lead pollution had caused potential adverse eff ects on children health, so that measures should be taken to find the contaminat ed sources and prevent lead poisoning.
