Abstract
Isoamyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and isoamyl alcohol with solid sulfonic acid sulfonated activated carbon as catalyst under microwave irradiation. The effect of factors on the yield was studied and the optimum reaction conditions were found. They were as follows: molar ratio of acetic acid to isoamyl alcohol was 1.8:1,reaction temperature 200 ℃,reaction time 20 min,and the dosage of the catalyst was 8% of the practical acetic acid quality.Under the conditions, the yield was 85.51%.The product was characterized by IR.
