Abstract
Isoamyl acetate was synthesized from acetic acid and isoamyl alcohol, using titanium sulfate supported on active carbon as the catalyst. Some factors affecting the reaction were studied. The results indicated when the molar ratio of acetic acid to isoamyl alcohol was 2.5∶1,the mass ratio of Ti SO4 2 to activated carbon was 3∶1,the reaction temperature was 120 ℃,and the reaction time was 2.5 h,the esterification rate of the reaction was up to 93.86 %.
