Expression of β catenin in renal cell carcinoma

Abstract

Objective To investigate the expression of beta catenin in renal cell carcinoma. Methods 26 cases with renal cell carcinoma was studied for β catenin expression by means of LSAB immunohistochemistry. Results the expression of β catenin is higher in cancer tissues than in normal kidney tissues and the level of β cetnin is associated with the tumor stage , It’s expression in pT 3 and pT 4 tumors is obviously higher than that of pT 1 and pT 2 tumors, P 0.01. Conclusions β catenin might be relatd to the occurrence and development of kidney cancer.
