Application of SSR Marker Technique to Purity Testing of Maize

Abstract

In this study,6 SSR primer pairs were screened to search for the SSR loci that are suitable for testing the purity of Qiangsheng No.1 maize hybrid,which lack a reliable laboratory method for purity testing.The results are as follows: A polymorphic SSR loci,bilg116 has been found that could be applied to test the purity of this hybrid. A procedure featuring inexpensive equipment and ease of use has been set up for testing maize hybrid purity using SSR marker.
