Abstract
【Objective】To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Donepezil in the treatment of elderly patients with dementia after cerebral trauma.【Methods】Forty elderly patients with post-traumatic dementia were enrolled into this controlled and randomized study.Donepezil were administered within 1 week after trauma and the efficacy was evaluated using mini-mental state examination(MMSE) before and 1-,2-,3-week,1-,3-month after treatment.【Results】The MMSE scale was significantly increased 1 month after treatment in donepezil group compared with that in common treatment group(P0.05).The dysfunction of cognition was also markedly improved in donepezil group(P0.01).【Conclusion】Donepezil could treat elderly patients with dementia after cerebral trauma effectively and safely.
