Abstract
Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of donepezil in treatment of vascular dementia(VaD).Methods:The self-matched method was adopted.36 patients with VaD were give orally donepezil for 12 weeks. The efficacies were assessed with MMSE ADL,and the safety after the treatment was also assessed. Results:The score of MMSE increased 3.6 points, while that of ADL decreased 7.3 points after treatment with donepezil for 12 weeks, the differences were significant. There were 3 patients(8.33%) showing mild side-effect which was temporary phenomenon. Conclusion: It is effective and safe to treat patients with VaD.
