Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of Benazepril combined with azathioprine on IgA nephropathy and renal function and urinary protein. Methods We selected 64 cases diagnosed as IgA nephropathy by renal biopsy in our hospital from March 2007 to March 2010 as research subjects and divided them randomly into combination therapy group(benazepril combined with azathioprine) and the control group(benazepril alone), with 32 cases in each group and observed and compared the efficacy and the blood urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine(Scr), 24h urinary protein changes in the two groups a day before treatment and 6 months after treatment. Results The effective rate of the combination therapy group was 87.5%(28/32) and that of the control group was 71.9%(23/32), with a sig-nificant difference between the two groups (P0.05).The urinary protein of the control group after treatment was significantly de-creased and the BUN and Scr had no significant changes. The BUN, Scr and 24h urine protein of the combined treatment group 6 months after treatment were higher than those before treatment, with a significant difference (P0.05).Conclusion The effect of be-nazepril combined with azathioprine on the renal protection and reduction of urinary protein is superior to the effect of single use of benazepril, which can significantly reduce urine protein and improve renal function, worth clinical application.
