Efficacy of benazepril combined with leflunomide in treatment of IgA nephropathy

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of benazepril combined with leflunomide in treating IgA nephropathy.Methods Sixty patients with IgA nephropathy were equally randomized into two groups of A(treated with benazepril 10 mg/d combined with leflunomide 20 mg/d for 6 months) and B(treated with benazepril for 6 months).Clinical efficacy was compared between two groups.Results The total effectiveness rate of group A was 83.3%,which was higher than 66.7% of group B(P0.05).After treatment,urine protein was lower in group A than that in group B(0.62±0.24) g/24 h vs.(1.62±0.46) g/24 h and serum albumin was higher in group A than that in group B(40.36±10.32) g/L vs.(32.86±10.31) g/L(P0.05).Conclusion Benazepril combined with leflunomide can effectively increase serum albumin and reduce urine protein of patients with IgA nephropathy.
