Abstract

Objective To evaluate the curative effects endoscopic variceal ligation(EVL) in the treatment of esophageal varices(EV) to portal hypertensive gastropathy(PHG).Methods Chose 100 patients in our hospital with liver cirrhosis upper gastrointestinal bleeding were treated with the EVL.After 9 months of follow-up,the incidence of portal hypertensive gastropathy after EVL from March 2011 to March 2012 was observed. Results Three months after EVL,the incidences of PHG had no statistically significant differences from those before the treatment.Six months and nine months after EVL,the incidences of PHG had statistically significant differences from those before the treatment. Conclusion EVL in the treatment of EV could increase the incidences of PHG.So we must pay attention on it.
