Abstract

[Objective] To determine contents of four heavy metals( Pb,Cd,Zn and Cu) in Verbena officinalis L. from different areas and discuss effects of different producing areas. [Method] The method of microwave digestion was used for pretreatment of Verbena officinalis L.from four different areas. The metallic elements of Pb,Cd,Zn,Cu in samples were determined by atomic absorption spectrometry( AAS).[Result]The metallic elements contents in Verbena officinalis L. varied from difierent areas,Pb in the range of 0. 347 to 0. 832 μg/g,Cd in the range of 0. 117 to 0. 301 μg / g,Zn in the range of 0. 195 to 0. 548 μg / g,and Cu in the range of 0. 059 to 0. 083 μg / g. Heavy metal content is in accordance with the stipulation of Green Trade Standards of Importing Medicinal Plants. [Conclusion] This method had completely dissolution, less pollution, high efficient and accuracy, and there were obtained a satisfactory result by multiple determinations.
