Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of astragalus combined with irbesartan in treating hypertensive renal damage and its influence on patients' urine protein and renal function. Methods One hundred patients suffering from hypertensive renal damage were randomly divided into two groups( n = 50 in each group). Patients in the control group were given irbesartan only, while those in the observation group were given astragalus combined with irbesartan. Clinical efficacy and related indexes indicators were analyzed. Results Systolic pressure, diastolic pressure,24-hour urine protein and SC after treatment in both groups were decreased compared with those before treatment( P 0. 01),but the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group( P 0. 01). The total efficacy rate in the observation group was 98. 00%,higher than that of the control group, which was only 84. 00%( P 0. 05). Conclusion Astragalus combined with irbesartan is effective in the treatment of hypertensive renal damage and can help to reduce urinary protein level, protect and promote the recovery of renal function.
