Abstract

OBJECTIVE To study the efficacy of Irbesartan in the treatment of hypertension and chronic renal insufficiency.METHODS 112 patients with hypertension and chronic renal failure were randomly divided into two groups, group A and B,with 56 cases in each group.Renal function plasma were measured and blood pressure was investigated in group A who received Irbesartan 150mg /d.If the effect was not ideal, the dose could be added to 300 mg /d and group B who received Captopril 12.5mg(three times per day) in 24 weeks' treatment.RESULTS All systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, serum creatinine, urea nitrogen, urinary protein /24h after treatment were better than before(all P﹤0.01);The efficacy of group A was better than group B(P﹤0.01).CONCLUSION It not only can control the blood pressure effectively, but also has an important clinical significance in improving kidney function.
