Abstract
Because of Wenchuan Large Earthquake,the buildings in Xi'an City have been devastated differently,especially a large number of primary and middle school buildings.Based on the investigation of earthquake damages of primary and middle school masonry buildings,the earthquake characteristics and reasons of them are analyzed,and some suggestions are given about how to improve the seismic-resistant performance of the primary and middle school buildings,so as to provide some guidance for the design and strengthening of buildings in the future.
