Random Controlled Study of Surgical Dressing in Patients with Diabetic Ulcer of the Leg

Objective:To compare the therapeutic effect and acceptability of Kong'hui'er serial dressing with that of conventional gauze for patients with diabetic ulcer of the leg.Methods:One hundred patients with diabetic ulcer of the leg who underwent dressing change in the out-patient department were included and randomly divided into the 2 groups.The reduction of wound area,as well as the acceptability of patients,was followed.Results:Significant difference in the reduction of wound area was observed between the 2 groups in the 4 weeks of observation,while the patients in the Kang'hui'er group had less dressing changes,fewer dressing adhesion and soaking wound reported.The acceptability of dressing change was remarked as better for the Kanghui'er group by included patients.Conclusion:Kang'hui'er serial dressing are effective and acceptable materials,which could be applied in wound dressing for patients with diabetic ulcer of the leg.
