Abstract
In NH_3·H_2O-NH_4Cl buffer medium at pH 10.0,calcium(Ⅱ) can form a blue complex with the composition of 1∶2(M∶R) with tribromoarsenazo. The maximum absorption wavelengh locates at 610 nm.The apparent molar absorptivity is e_(610 nm)=7.16×10~4 (L·mol~(-1)·cm~(-1).)Beer's law is obeyed in the range of 0-25 μg/25 mL for calcium. The method has been applied to the determination of calcium in rain water and sodium sulfate with satisfactory results. The present method is simple, rapid and accurate.
