Relations of the Government and the University in China: History and Change

By reviewing the relationship between Chinese government and the university from the different periods of China,it shows that the fundamental conflict between the government and the university no longer exists,the control on the University by the government more emphasizes on the practical value of the university to the government and the role of social services,but neglect the important role of the autonomy power of university development.The need of the government and the community to the higher education is the sophisticated science and technology that line with the requirements of the times of the innovative talents and their own intellectual property rights.Under the situation of assuring the principles of the implementation and carry out of the higher education quality,the government is bound to be willing to give the more freedom of academia to the universities.However,the process is the game between the Government and the University,which needs a long process of historical development.
