Abstract
Objective To study sensitivities and cross-resistances of fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans isolates from vulvovaginal candidiasis to other azoles. Methods Minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of fluconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole and bifonazole were tested by utilizing Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute(CLSI) broth microdilution methods. Results Eleven of the total 19 FLC-resistant isolates showed cross-resistances to ITC,and 5/19 FLC-resistant isolates showed cross-resistances to both ITC and VRC.Conclusions Some of the fluconazole-resistant Candida albicans isolates could have cross-resistance to other common azole antifungal agents.
