Efficacy of Esomeprazole in Combination with Levofloxacin and Amoxicillin in Treatment of Hp associated Duodenal Ulcer

Objective: To investigate the clinical efficacy of esomeprazolein combination with levofloxacin and amoxicillin in the treatment of Helicobacter pylori(Hp)-associated duodenal ulcer(DU).Methods: 100 patients with Hp-associated DU were randomly classified into two groups.Patients in treatment group(50 cases) received esomeprazolein combination with levofloxacin and amoxicillin,whereas patients in control group(50 cases) had esomeprazolein combination with metronidazole and amoxicillin.After 4 weeks of treatment,clinical effects,Hp clearancerates,ulcer healing and antrialmucosal inflammation were analyzed in both groups.Result: Treatment group significantly improved clinical symptoms and antrialmucosal inflammation compared with that of control group.Conclusion: Esomeprazolein combination with levofloxacin and amoxicillin is effective to treat Hp-associated DU and promote ulcer healing.
