Abstract
Objective To investigate the relationship between p16 expression and clinical pathology of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(LSCC). Methods Immunohistochemical SP procedures were taken in this study to detect p16 expression in the laryngeal tissues of 60 cases with primary LSCC and 14 healthy cases as control. Results The positive rate of p16 expression was significantly lower in the cases with lscc than that in healthy person(P0.05). Furthermore, p16 expression showed a declined tendency in the positive rate in cases with neck lymph node metastasis, when compared with those cases without neck lymph node enlarging. Conclusion The detection of p16 protein is helpful for the early diagnosis and prognostic evaluation for cases with laryngeal carcinoma.
