Abstract
A new catalytic spectrophotometric method for the determination of trace Fe*# has been developed. The method is based on the catalytic effect of Fe*# on the decoloring reaction of chlorophosphonazo Ⅲ oxidized by KIO_4 in the medium of H_2SO_4.The detection limit of this method is 3.8×10~(-9) g/mL for Fe*# and the linear relationship is in the concentration range of 0-1.5 μg/10 mL for Fe*#.Its recovery is in the range of 96.0%-102.5% and RSD is 1.9%-2.2%.It has been applied to the determination of iron in water with satisfactory results.
