Abstract
Objective:To study the changes of serum bilirubin and uric acid in patients with coronary heart disease(CHD)and their clinical significance. Methods:The serum levels of bilirubin and uric acid were determined by colorimetry and enzymatic assay in 39 patients with CHD and in 30 healthy controls. Results:The serum levels of direct bilirubin and uric acid in CHD patients were markedly higher than those in control group( P 0 01),the serum levels of indirect bilirubin was markedly lower than those in control group( P 0 01),the serum levels of total bilirubin was no difference than those in control group( P 0 05).the serum levels of total bilirubin, direct bilirubin, indirect bilirubin and uric acid in myocardial infarction were no difference than those in myocardial ischemia( P 0 05).In myocardial ischemia, the serum levels of uric acid in heart function stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ was more higher than those in heart function stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ( P 0 05),the serum levels of total bilirubin, direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin were unrelated to heart function stage.the serum levels of total bilirubin, direct unrelated to heart function stage.the serum levels of total bilirubin, direct bilirubin and indirect bilirubin in CHD patients were unrelated with uric acid( P 0 05).Conclusion:Bilirubin and uric acid may play an important roles in the pathogenesis of CHD.
