Abstract
The technique of the 3D finite element method(FEM) of coupling seepage, expanse and stress was studied, and the corresponding program for the FEM of strength reduction method was developed.Through comparison the FEM calculation with limit equilibrium, the applicability of FEM to analysing the slope stability was evaluated. The comparison result shows that the FEM method is feasible to analyze the stability of the slope considering seepage and expanse.
