Abstract
The technique of the3D finite element method(FEM) of coupling seepage and stress is studied, and the corresponding program for the FEM of strength reduction method is developed.Through comparison of the FEM calculation with limit equilibrium, the applicability of FEM to analyse the slope stability is evaluated. The comparison result shows that the FEM method is feasible to analyze the stability of the slope considering seepage and strength reduction caused by seepage.
